Team3

We would love you to get involved in the life of MFC. We all have different gifts and abilities which are all needed to make the church function properly; like a jigsaw puzzle, all the different pieces need to come together to create the complete picture. These are all voluntary part-time positions and will require you signing our Vision and Values Statement.  Here is a list of areas where we currently have opportunities to serve.

Families

  • Powerhouse Teachers: lead a children's group on Sundays as part of the Powerhouse teaching rota using material provided by the Families Coordinator. Establish friendship with children and parents to feedback any support requirements to the Families Coordinator.
  • Children's Group Leaders: to lead a mid-week children's group providing a link to church through games, activities and bible teaching. Reports to the Families Coordinator.
  • Youth Leader: to lead our youth work with young people from within the church and outside. Establish a programme of teaching, activities and events that will encourage young people to understand and accept the love of God. Reports to the Families Coordinator.
  • Group Helpers: to provide assistance to one or more of the following; Powerhouse teachers, Children's Group Leader or Youth Leader in their ministries. Very little, if any, preparation is required only to attend the meeting and engage with the children and young people.
  • Kitchen Staff: to make and serve refreshments for the Parents and Toddler Group during their Wednesday sessions and engage with parents. Reports to Parents and Toddler Group Leader.

Worship

  • Welcome Team: to welcome those attending our Sunday Services on a rota basis. It involves putting out the wheelchair ramp, being prepared to issue Bibles and song books to those who require them and setting out the Communion, when required. Most important of all, it's about having a welcoming smile and particularly making newcomers and visitors feel at ease. You will report to the Church Administrator.
  • Technical Team: operating the sound desk or visuals to ensure everyone is able to fully participate in a service, as they desire, by enabling them to hear and join in with the worship band and to view videos and presentations which may also be part of the service. Full training will be provided, which is very straightforward for anyone who is comfortable using a computer. You will be on a rota and will be required to arrive at least 30 minutes before a service begins. You will report to the Church Administrator.

Missions

  • Mission Champions: working with, and reporting to the Missions Coordinator, be our link with a Mission Partner keeping us updated with news and prayer requests and to lead our prayer focus, maximum twice per year.

Resources

  • Maintenance Lead: to carry out minor (DIY) repairs and arrange for contractors to quote for more major works, as required. Arrange and manage Maintenance Days to encourage church members to help look after our church building and equipment. Reports to the Resources Coordinator.
  • Media Officer: to manage the church social media platforms, including this website, ensuring continuity of message. Ensure recordings are made of the Sunday sermons and are uploaded to the website weekly. Support the streaming of Sunday services by being on the duty rota. Advise the Leadership Team of possible required upgrades to existing equipment and media platforms or propose adoption of new. Reports to the Resources Coordinator.
